[Kenwood] TS2000 and full duty cycle

Just got a forwarded message from a local ham who had
asked Kenwood customer service the recommended power
out on the TS2000 for modes that are full duty
cycle-like PSK, etc.  They said 20 watts??  If that is
so, it makes the rig fairly worthless for digital
modes.

I have been running it at full power for things like
RTTY and WSJT, and at 50 watts for PSK, Hellschreiber,
and MFSK16.  20 watts will not cut it on WSJT for
meteorscatter, but then WSJT is a fairly short
transmit mode (30 seconds on, 30 seconds off).  What
have your experiences been with the TS2000 and digital
modes?  I cannot afford to get an amp at this time to
keep the rigs output at 20 watts.  Also, if it is that
critical, you would think the manual would mention it.
