I'll second that... and more.  For years I was in the software development
business and everytime someone "gave" someone else a copy of my software,
they were taking money out of my pocket.  It doesn't matter whether it is a
single guy or a big company, stealing is just plain wrong and to ask first
is the right thing to do - always.

Then there are people that attack a "boy scout".  Well, I was an Eagle Scout
but it didn't take that to know theft is wrong in any form.  Sounded like a
childish attack from someone that would pirate software and think nothing of
it.
