For others, not you, who would attack the honest Ham who
asked about copyrights, here it is in plain American English ...

People of honor do not steal and taking that which someone
else has created without their permission is theft.  Period.

That said, some copyrights expire, some are renewed.  The
simple way to know about a particular publication is to E-mail
or phone the manufacturer and ask.  More and more of them
are posting their manuals for free downloads on the Net, others
sometimes ship replacements for free to Hams who request them.

It is always a contribution to the survival of civilization to try and
do the honest thing first and I congratulate you for seeking the
right way to proceed.
