[Kenwood] TS850 to PC

I am new to computer interfacing.
I need to operate my TS 850 from my PC and utilise some  available =
soundcard and other software.
I have some info from the websites of N6TR,K0BX, TKEP, and IK2BCP. =
Cannot decide which.=20
I need a simple, secure, reliable, beginners interface, that can work =
with most, if not all softwre.
 What is safe, or not safe, for the rig and the PC ??
Why I will need to take precautions, which ?.=20
What to look for etc etc, indeed a portal !
