As I recall.....
NB-2 is designed to respond to the longer pulse widths, the best example of
this would be the HF over the horizon radars or "woodpeckers" as they were
known which were quite active during the later days of the "cold war". This
as compared to NB-1 where the time constants are designed for the very
short pulse widths of ignition noise and power line arcing
