[Kenwood] TM-V7A Audio problems

This past weekend I was using my TM-V7A with VHF/VHF. I had a two meter
repeater on one band and a two meter simplex frequency on the other. I kept
having a problem with the repeater frequency - the audio would cut out, but
I would still be reciving a carrier - the S-meter would show I was recieving
a full quieting signal.

I was able to use another radio to hear the entire conversation, so I know
it wasn't the repeater. Does any one have any ideas?
