[Kenwood] FM S-meter calibration

Greetings,

I have a D700 which is 2/3rds computer 1/3 radio.  What are the group's
thought on the S-meter performance?  This FM rig is very sensitive with
a  0.150 uV for a 12 dB SINAD.  What is a reasonable S-meter
calibration?  I know FM is very different than SSB.  I also own a TS-50
which also allows you to "re-curve" the S-meter in various modes of
operation.

The D700 S-meter can be "re-curved" as you pick the S1 and S7 voltage
points.   I currently use the SINAD performance number as the S1 value,
and 10 uV for full scale (S7).  A 12 dB SINAD is 75% noise and 6uV - 10
uV shows no appreciable improvement on a full quieting signal.   The
SINAD and 10uV voltage points work well for me.

Thoughts?  Again, FM is very different than SSB or CW S-meter stories
(25 or 50 uV for S9+20db lets say.... do not apply).
