[Kenwood] Kenwood 2SC2509 not standard 2SC2509

I have a TS-140 with bad 2SC2509 RF drivers.  The same drivers are used in 
the TS-430, 440,850 and I'm sure others. The KW schematic says they are 
2SC2509 but the pinout is different from standard 2SC2509 shown in the 
databooks.  The databooks say the center pin is the collector and the base 
and emitter is on each side.  The Kenwood version has the emitter in the 
center and base and collector on each side.  If you order a 2SC2509, how do 
you know which version you will get.  Why two different pinouts and one 
part number?  Anyone know of a source other than Pacific Coast and East 
Coast transistor that has the correct Kenwood pin configuration?
