Set the bandwidth from 100 to 3k ...... It should sound great... You should
be using the black 444D mic in the low impedance setting. The audio of a
sideband transmitter has to do with the Mic, the speech audio circuit , the
width of the crystal filter & last the carrier point setting ( most
important) ...whether the radio has tube or transistor finals has nothing to
do with the audio sound,  just how much IMD ( splatter) it produce's...
unless the finals( tube or transistor) are severely misadjusted to a class C
mode,  then it will make the audio sound distorted & fuzzy ....
