[Kenwood] ts-870 transmit audio

I am trying to find the optimum settings for menues 28 through 31 and 
any others affecting transmit audio.

I am using a 444 microphone.  No matter what I do, I am getting 
constant reports that my old ts-830 sounds better.

I know the valve p.a. will have better lineararity but would like to get 
this sounding as close as I can to the old ts-830.

Any comments welcome.
