Brian - Perhaps someone can comment on the appropriate service manual you need.
 My guess is you need to know the serial number of your unit and then from that
determine what year service manual you need. As I understand Kenwood's serial
number configuration (from a previous reflector response):

"If I understand it correctly Kenwood's serial number scheme goes like this:
Serial number scheme:    XYYZZZZZZZ
Where;
The last digit of the year of manufacture = X-2
The month of manufacture = yy
The number in the run for that year/month = ZZZZZZZ"

As to the quality of W7FG manuals.....I have two and they are both excellent
quality. Both are bound copies with spirial plastic...with decent covers.
They do include full 11x17 schematics, as nexcessary depending upon unit (my
Valiant manual has several 11x17 schematics) as well as 8.5x11 schematics.

I would recommend them. If you search hard enough you can find others who can
supply manual copies as well, and if you look really hard you can find an
original.  Good luck.
