[Kenwood] TS-690SAT Scanning

Hello Group - Long time listener, first time caller....

I have the above TS-690.  Seems to work real well.  However, I do wish to
scan a bunch of 6m repeaters in my area. I have set them up in memory
channel's 1 thru 17 or so (with a few locked out).

When I hit the scan button, the radio will scan through the channels -
however, if there is activity on any of those channels, it will not stop
scanning.  I can open the squelch completely, and the radio will continue to
scan through the channels.

In checking the Scan portion of the instruction manual, it does mention the
radio will scan through memory channels...however, it doesn't say anything
about actually "stopping" on ones with activity.

I would 'assume' that a radio with memory scan would actually stop on a
channel with activity...do I assume wrong with this radio?

There doesn't seem to be anything in the set up menu to address this, and
the instruction manual is rather simplistic on this issue.

Any thoughts from this group?
