[Kenwood] serial # was the IMD mod

Hello Cliff,

as I am waiting for my new TS-870S to be delivered from AES tomorrow, I have
this ill feeling of getting a old serial number - some rig that has been
sitting on the bottom of the stack for the last 2 years.

Since you do the mods I am curious as to the possibility of an old model
870s still residing in the warehouse.

Have you had any recent new 870S purchases with old serial numbers from
larger suppliers, like AES, that ended up needing the mods installed?

Perhaps I should be asking AES the question, but I assume (perhaps
incorrectly) that they rotate stock, selling old serial numbers first.
Getting a correct answer from a salesman may not be possible.

Although the 870S has been around for sometime, I feel confident that I
would be getting a solid bug free rig that performs well on QSK CW?
