[Kenwood] DG-5 Display Problems

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for the help.

I have a Kenwood TS-520S with a remote VFO.  I
recently purchased a DG-5 Digital display.  When I
hook it up, it does work, but it also generates noise
such that the noise floor on the receiver, which is
normally very quiet, jumps up to almost an S8.  Any
ideas about how I can get rid of this noise?  Has
anyone else had a similar experience?
