[Kenwood] External RIT/XIT control of Kenwood HF radios

Most of not all of the Kenwood HF radios allow you to QSY (i. change the 
VFO frequency) via the front microphone connector pins 3 and 4. This 
feature is taken advantage of via most of the Kenwood mics which have the 
up/down buttons on them.

What I would like to do is be able to control the RIT function this way 
instead of the main VFO frequency, anyone seen a mod to do this? 
Particularly for the TS-850/870 or 950 radios.
