Hi Dean,

I use several of those interfaces, and they do work both ways. I would
check to make sure that the RXD line is wired properly. From the sounds
of things the TXd line is working fine. What computer are you using it 
with? Some laptops are notorious for not having enough drive.

Let me know how things go. We should be able to find a way to make it
work properly
