Hello Larry,

i did that. Took the 18v and regulated it with 7812 (1a), two tantalum
capacitors at input/output, also took same voltage to pin 5 of mic connector
for casual use of preamplified mic, aka Astatic D 104, and fed one
connection of 12v to the free pin of remote connector for 12v bulb for my
Drake tuner. Total consumption should not be over 220ma.Fan is running now
constantly bit noisy, but the heatsink of PS is much cooler. Thought to use
same approach for PA heatsink, but leave it as it is now. More listening
then transmitting, HI! have heard that some fellows did a three fan array by
fitting special cover over the existing heatsinks. External control might be
made by side switch or to use one of the less used front control switches,
dimm, dial lock etc... Be careful and good luck!
