[Kenwood] Please help me with AT-230 adjustment

I just purchased an AT-230.  The SWR meter is reading weird (Fwd and Ref 
read the same).  Calibrate will not adjust the Fwd reading to full 
scale.  There are 3 pots inside.  One doesn't seem to do anything.  The 
other two do adjust the meter with the SWR/Power switch in the Power 
position.  I have a feeling I may not be setting the SWR/Power switches 
properly to read SWR.  I also have a feeling I'm not adjusting the 3 pots 
correctly.  I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me how to 
correctly adjust the pots and how to set the switches to read the SWR 
properly.  The standard set to FWD, adjust for full scale, switch to 
reflected and read don't seem to work on this unit.  If someone could scan 
these parts of the manual I would be most grateful.  I'm trying to get back 
on the air after 30 years QRT.
