[Kenwood] Problem with TS-850S Display

Has anyone experienced losing their display? Last night I was surprised to find out that the display on my TS-850 won't come out. Prior to this, there were instances when I've experienced waiting for a while before the display comes out after switching on the transceiver (sometimes you need to key the mic for it to light up). I came across a ham who had the same problem and the 470uf capacitor (how many vdc?) on the display board was the culprit. Any other reasons? Inputs will be much appreciated as this is my main transceiver used for contests and dx.
