Sri to hear about your problem James, but it is the DC-DC convertor that
controls the AGC.
I had to replace mine twice.  It is NOT a real hard job, the part cost
about $11.00.

There is a article on my webpage that tells in details how to fix it. 
Just goto ALC problem.
