Hi Terry et al--

I've used an older (maybe ten years) TS-50S for almost two years.
While I bought it for a mini-DXpedition, I've moved it back and forth
into/out of my car, on various portable operations under adverse
conditions, and as a home base rig (I have a TS-520 as back-up, but
hardly ever use it anymore. It's rugged, intuitively easy to use, fun
(I love the WARC bands), and powerful. After all this exercise, it's
finally showing a few minor indications of old age, e.g. when I push
buttons on the front, sometimes other buttons react, but it's very
easy to correct.

I use an MFJ-941E Versa Tuner II and the TS-50 is powered by an
Astron RS-35M at home. Frequency is rock-stable and accurate. The
itty-bitty fan comes on when it's hot and stays off when it's not.

I love my TS-50S and would recommend it to anyone!
