[Kenwood] TS-520S Tight Tuning Knob

I've never had the problem, but you will need to find
out where it is binding. If you remove the tuning
knob, and the metal dial behind it, you will see a
bushing secured to the chasis by two screws. Start
there and trace backwards until you find the binding
point. Once you have the root cause of the binding,
the solution may be obvious.
