Don... Dave... sorry, but Dave is wrong! I have a TL-922A, was purchased
brand new and taken out of the box by me and the 10 meter components were
NOT there and all components had to be installed... they simply were not
there.
A friend @ Kenwood says there never was a TL-922 introduced into the USA
market... only the TL-922A.

Don
Pretty much the same amp, in either case you want to be sure that the amp
has had 10M enabled. As I recall the 922 didn't come with the 10M parts
installed (but the holes were all drilled etc. ). the 922A had the 10M
parts installed, but the "stop" on the band switch had to be removed to
switch to the 10M position.
Only widely reported known trouble spot in the either amp are burned band
switch contacts. Turn the amp upside down remove the bottom cover, take a
small flash light and carefully inspect the ceramic band switch. Up until
recently I owned two 922A's (sold one a month ago ...saving for a ACOM 2000)
In general operationally two things to watch for.
1) watch your grid current ( don't overdrive it) high grid current = short
tube life
2) PTT input has +100v on it and should be switched with a relay or a HV
transistor.
