[Kenwood] Mic compatability for Kenwood TM-321A

 I recently acquired a Kenwood TM-321A which came with the MC-44DM Multifunction Mic with Autopatch (T91-0380-15) This is the mic that is used with the TM-331A and maybe some other Kenwood radios and has functions with it that the TM-321A does not have. The original mic for my TM-321A is supposed to be the MC-48B DTMF Mic (T91-0359-05). Both of these mics have the 8 pin round connector. The UP/DOWN buttons seem to work fine and the lock switch appears to also function. There is a mic intm ptt problem. Is this a compatable mic for my TM-321A or should I start looking for the original MC-48B that originally came with the radio?
 Anyone have one of these Kenwood mics (MC-48B) that they're not using that is in good working condition and needs a new home. If so please contact me at the e-Mail address in my signature with a price for it shipped to my zip.
