[Kenwood] TS2000 questions

I have a couple of questions about this rig:

1. I need to do the firmware upgrade, and have the
program for that already.  When I do the reset at the
end, do I lose all memories and do the menu settings
go back to default?

2. When was the TS2000 first offered for sale in the
US?

3. I have serial number 210XXX.  Is is possible to
determine when the rig was made based on the SN?
