[Kenwood] TS-711 Keying problem

Hi all,

I have a TS-711 that is driving a Mirage 3016 amp that has a problem.
When I use the keying line to "hard key" the amp, the 711 stays keyed after
I release the PTT.
When I let the amps RF detection circuit do the switching, all works as it
should.

I use shielded cable to shielded plugs at both ends and the cable is only
about 2 feet long.

Any Ideas?  I was thinking about adding a bypass cap and perhaps some
ferrite on the keying line, but I am not convinced that RF is the problem as
the amp feeds an antenna 100 ft away with a 1.2 match to the beam.
