From mcrabtree at kc.rr.com Wed Jul 15 23:41:26 2015 From: mcrabtree at kc.rr.com (Mike Crabtree) Date: Thu, 16 Jul 2015 03:41:26 +0000 Subject: [KCDXC] Tower available free Message-ID: Some of you are already aware of this but I wanted to make sure everyone in the KCDXC knew about this: My cousin, K5NW, recently became a Silent Key. It was a sudden thing and his xyl is left with a 100' tower in her yard that needs to taken down. It is well guyed Rohn 25G. K5NW was an EE and installed a very safe tower. He was an active contester and DXer for many years. The tower has a large 6 element Mosley tribander(I think it is a CL-36) on it and a 2 element 40M yagi. The 40M beam is missing half of the driven element. The mast is about 15' and sets down in the tower 5-8'. There's a rotor, which I believe is a Tailtwister. There's a remote antenna switch at the top of the tower and coax lines. K5NW's xyl will pay someone to take it down and stack it in the yard OR offer the complete tower, guy wire, rotor , and antennas FREE if someone wants to do the work . This super set up valued easily at $2K. John's XYL needs to get it down ASAP. The catch is the tower is in Dallas. Actually in a suburb north of the metro area of Dallas. Even if you aren't interested please pass this info on to anyone you know who might be interested and please announce it at club meetings. Only experienced tower guys need apply.
