Eddy,

You can never have too many antennas in your arsenal. A dipole for 20 is not
a big chore, put it up and try it, you will be surprised at the difference
it will make with some stations.

Subject: [KCDXC] HELP - DX is getting in the way

My limited DX skills are starting to get in the way. I'm trying to work the
W1AW - portable WAS.

North Carolina, West Virginia, Utah, South Carolina, Delaware - all no
problem. Slipped in hit them on the first or second try - just like working
DX, timing is everything.

Now the rub - I can't hear the guy near Lincoln Nebraska. I hear both coast
talking to him, I hear people as near as Illinois and Utah talking to him. I
can't hear him coming back to them. I think my 6-20m vertical is a little to
flat to catch him. I think I need to throw up something temporary that is a
little more NVIS.

They are working 15-20m SSB during the day. So I was thinking maybe a 20m
dipole at 4 meters above ground? Suggestions welcomed.

This week has been Alaska, Brazil, Peru, Saint Vincent, Ireland, Italy,
Norway, Colombia, Slovenia, and Belize - but no NEBRASKA.

Eddy
