Russ bought antenna poles in Dayton for Dragon. They are still rattling around in the back of my truck. Maybe one of you could call me about delivery. 913-269-7305 Eddy KY0F
I went to Dayton with a grand in cash to buy an amp. So after visiting every booth in the Dayton flea market and not finding the right amp at the right price, I started back home empty handed. An hour before we got to St Louis we found an AL811H on Larrys List located in St Charles - local pickup only. I now have a really nice amp from Doug (K0DRA) and got to see it in operation before buying it. Now I can use some tips on how to set it up.
Can I feed ALC and RELAY from a FT-450? Do I want to?
The internet is loaded down with mods for this amp, are there any I really should do?
I have a MFJ-989C to use with this, need to set it up and master it at the same time. Can I just put the amp in by-pass push the 5 watt tune signal out, adjust to that and then push 6-700 watts out to the antenna? How much tuning will be required for the bands that are less than 1.5:1 end to end?
Did I mention I could use some help? I really don't want any smoke to escape my rig or my amp.
