The Dog Hollow Contest Group would like to invite anyone interested in
playing Field Day to join us this year. Once again we'll be operating Class
4A from Memorial Park in downtown Belton. We would like to have several
experienced contesters, especially CW types, to man one of our five planned
operating positions (2 CW, 1 PHONE, 1 DIGITAL, and 1 VHF/UHF/Satellite).
We really would like an experience satellite operator to head up the VHF/UHF
station so we can add the satellite bonus this year as well as make a big
run on 6m and 2m VHF. With the solar peak (such as it will be) approaching,
I'd expect VHF to be wide open this year.
Our site is within a 5 minute drive of a wide variety of restaurants, fast
food, and convenience stores (the QuikTrip is two blocks away!). Nobody
needs to feel obligated to operate the entire weekend but we would ask that
people try to sign up for at least a two hour block of time if at all
possible (even though we won't say no if you can only come out for an hour
or so!). We also have an air-conditioned building on site available for
sleeping or getting out of the heat - unfortunately we can't set up
operating positions in it.
Please contact either myself or Phil, WV0T, with any questions or to sign
up.
I hope you'll consider joining us this year! Perhaps if there is enough
interest we could plan a KCDXC "event" Saturday evening.
