Phil and I would like to invite anyone from the KCDX Club that isn't already
committed to a Field Day operation to come join us at Belton Memorial Park
this year. Our goal is to have a fun but serious "contest" effort. We are
looking for particularly younger hams to assist as operators and
set-up/tear-down. We have all the equipment basically covered including
antennas, towers, etc. It is our goal to be sure that we keep the station up
and running throughout the full contest period. We are also seriously
interested in people who are generally inactive that would be qualified to
operate our GOTA station (WG0TA).
Whether you can come for the whole operation or just come operate for a
couple of hours, you are welcome with us.
We generally try to get together for this event (which HAS been known to be
repeated!) in early May. We've pretty much got our site plan down and know
what we're doing with that aspect. What we really want to do this year is
put an emphasis on making sure we get all of the bonus points out there.
We will soon be holding our annual Field Day Final Planning Meeting (read:
"Meet at a Mexican restaurant, drink beer (optional), eat good food, and
talk a little"). If you are interested, please contact me as soon as
possible.
