Just an idea I thought I'd throw out.  Whenever I work a zero station or local guy I try to send them an email thanking them for the QSO and a link inviting them to the W0DXCC in Leavenworth.  (I just worked a guy in Goodland, Kansas and sent him an email.)  I also sent messages to some of the local operators and clubs.  Many of these local folks are repeater ops, local rag chewers, coffee crowd and 6 meter/2 meter ops. Many of them don't get the word of a nearby event and I have found some interested particularly in the VHF lecture.  The biggest selling point is HOW CAN YOU PASS UP AN EVENT JUST A FEW HOURS FROM HOME?

Anyway, I encourage those QSLing to slip in a note with the card, or send emails to your local small clubs and local operators.  The link really sells itself.  The proximity makes it a MUST attend.
