[KCDXC] KCDXC-FD-2012

I have to agree with DAVE. I played with the heart of America Radio club
with field several times and all but one was nothing but work, work, work. I
would bring what I said I would for a station, but some one else was going
to bring the balance and they either didn't show up or forgot the item or
the item was not workable. The only year where it worked perfectly was the
year I brought a complete station, beam, tower, guys and radios and we won
that section and I was listed in QST as being KB0.......that was my last
year for that field day.

I have heard many Field Day horror stories that go something like this:

The club membership wants to have a club Field Day, however only 2 or 3
people do 90% of all the work.  This includes the months of planning,
preparing
the equipment, setting-up the antennas, operating, tear-down, and then
putting
everything away until the next year.  Oh, the majority of the club
membership
usually shows up at some predetermined time on Saturday for a dinner and
then
the majority of the membership disappears leaving the 2 or 3 guys to do all
the
operating and tear-down.  This usually goes on for several years, where less
and
less people help the 2 or 3 people, until the 2 or 3 people finally look at
each
other on some Sunday afternoon and then say "The Heck with this!".

For those that want to have a Field Day, demonstrate your enthusiasm by
joining
us at Raytown this weekend.  We always need people to help setup, operate,
and
tear-down.

See you there,

Dave KGØUS

I say that's maybe something we should shoot for next year, and yes Rob your

place would be good. I'm in.

Hi Rob and Judy,

You betcha!

I'm already committed to SFTARC-FD this year, but I would
definitely be interested in a KCDXC-FD in 2012.
