My wife "Julie" and I went up to Atchison, KS and had dinner with Sue & Vern
at Cedar Ridge Restaurant.
These are the people the W0DXCC committee has proposed to cater the W0DXCC
Event.
The food was Family Style, Pan Fried Chicken, BBQ ribs, Fish, Potatoes,
Corn, Apple Cobbler, Homemade Biscuits (all you can eat)
Drinks (milk, water, soda, tea and coffee are included with the meal price)
total $11.99 per person.
Alcoholic beverages are available for additional charges (Liquor and Beer)
The atmosphere is Country style (Country-N-Western Music) beautiful fall
decorations and very pleasing to enjoy your meal.
The staff was professional and very quick serving. Their attention to
detail was amazing - refills were never requested, it was there always.
It was Excellent. This meal is served every Friday evening 5:00 until 9:00
pm. The location is exactly as they described it
An old barn on top of a hill north of Atchison, KS. Absolutely a Stunning
View of the country side in the middle of nowhere land.
We met Vern and he stated to come on Saturdays as that is the Prime Rib, BBQ
Brisket and BBQ Pulled Pork night (which is always packed/crowded)
Which is the meal style the committee has requested a price on for our
W0DXCC event. We couldn't go this Saturday because my wife has to work.
Call in advance as we did, they will be glad to book your reservation to
ensure there is no waiting once you arrive. Without a reservation
You can expect to be waiting 1 to 1-1/2 hours for a table especially on
Saturday they said. We arrived with a 5:00 pm reservation tonight, we
walked
Right in, were seated and served with in 5 mins.
Take Hwy 7 due North past Atchison, KS another 5 to 6 miles to 318 ROAD
(GRAVEL ROAD), Turn Left go exactly 2 miles to the barn on top of the
Hill you can't miss it. It has a 360 degree view of the entire country
side. (beware of the deer, there are a lot of them)
Take your spouse or some friends you will not be disappointed. It's almost
a 2 hour drive from Gardner, KS however my wife and I stopped in
Weston, KS and shopped at a Fall Country Apply Market and we stopped in
Atchison, KS and shopped an Amish Store before arriving at the
Restaurant.
All and All we had a wonderful time.
We took pictures and I will make them available for your viewing tomorrow.
