Johnny has been moved to Gardner, KS at the Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital. 

 

He looks very good, but his short term memory is still lacking. He said he
knew me (as usual) but did not know my name I asked my call and he gave me
his call as mine. When I sent K0LW in morse code, he caught it and then with
a little pressure he remembered my name (first and last). This has been the
same game for the last 2 weeks of visits.

 

He will hold a conversations, but it is fantasy. I try to talk about the
past with him as it seems to be where his memory resides.

 

Go see him and ask him questions to help him recall and work to do it. 

 

BTW, he called AK0A "Dick".  That should give you an idea of how it is in
his world.

 

It's a long ride to Gardner, but he needs the visitors.  I plan to continue
the visits.
