--------------------------------------------------------
#2-Tom, N0AG, will present Part 2 of the tower installation and safety program. We will hear about 100ft tilt over Rohn 45's and everything you will need to know about the tower installations.
Here's Tom's short BIO:
"I was first licensed in 1980 as KAØDEG. My first store bought rig was a Ten-Tec Century 21. CW only, 50 watts out but she was a beauty.
Work and kids intervened. I let my license lapse. Time goes by. In 1992 my wife and I decided to build a house in Miami County, Kansas. In 1993 the house was completed. I got the itch again. I decided to pour some tower footings "just in Case".
I found a class and was introduced to the Santa Fe Amateur Radio Club in the winter of 1994. I was licensed a few months later as KBØMZG.
I enjoy "casual contesting" and DXing. I am a closet paper chaser. My real love is still antennas I never have tired of observing the magic when a good antenna is hooked up to the radio and signals pour forth.
My current projects include fabricating and installing a three tower antenna system to be completed in 2009. I am also trying to become familiar with the digital modes." 30-40min
------------------------------------------------------------
#3-Jeff, AC0C will have short intro into his future full presentation-converting SB200 into legal power amplifier. Two GI7B, a lot of thinking, some work and ...some smoke. Well let Jeff tell us about it.
Jeff's presentation this time will be attic antennas-3el 40M-10m and loaded dipoles for 160/80M.
About Jeff: "Likes: Running CW, PSK and RTTY. Rag-chewing and tinkering with amps, antennas/modeling. Working on DXCC and PSK-WAS. Improving my CW fist after about 27 years QRT. Thanks to everyone I've worked and had the patience to put up with my many CW sending errors.
Rig: Yaesu FT-2000, DMU-2000 & Heathkit SB-200 amp. 200-500w
Antenna: Attic-mounted 3-element trapped inverted-v wire beam for 20/30/40m using traps at 40' (11m) apex. Switchable east/west. Traps on the driven element for 80m also. MFJ-998 automatic ATU mounted near the antenna feed point provides full 10-160m all band coverage." 45min
CU at the meeting!
73. Alex KU1CW KCDXC President.
