NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
SEEING KANSAS CITY BALLET AS YOU'VE NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE
If you haven't taken advantage of the In The Wings choreographic workshop
performance, then you've really missed out. Each year, dancers of Kansas
City Ballet are given the opportunity to choreograph to their own choice of
music, set it on our professional dancers, choose costumes with the help of
our wardrobe mistress, and then have it performed before a live audience. To
read more, go to http://www.kcballet.org/enews/feb06/wings.html.

BE GROOVY AT THE ZUZU LOUNGE!
The annual Ballet Ball, the Kansas City Ballet Guild's primary fund-raising
project for 39 years, has a popular following of guests who support the arts
in Kansas City. This year's Ball is themed from the eclectic ballet, ZuZu
Lounge, choreographed by Margo Sappington to the Latin rhythms of Juan
Esquivel! To read more, go to http://www.kcballet.org/enews/feb06/ball.html.

DID YOU KNOW?
That over 200 slides from the 1977 Voyager Space Mission are shown during
Todd Bolender's ballet, Voyager, which will be presented May 11-14 at the
Lyric Theater. Voyager was the first of many works on which he collaborated
with light sculptor Dale Eldred. To read more, go to

VOLUNTEER
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
RITA RINGS UP RECORD RESULTS
When Rita Sanchez took over as Boutique Chairman last summer, she faced some
big challenges. The Ballet Guild asked her to keep the boutique staffed and
to ring up enough sales to contribute $40,000 of net profit to the Guild's
ballet donation. Prior to 2005, the highest profit the Boutique had earned
was $34,046 in 2003-2004. And, as with many volunteer endeavors, sales and
set up is always an uphill battle. To read more, go to
