Subject: 160 meter and 80 meters

Not much happening on 160 meters except the VK9
station, 80 has been open but last night the static
was making it hard for VK9 to make contacts. If you
hear him on he will switch to 160 if it's slow on 80
meters. Strange that 10 meters and 6 meters was open
on the weekend, but the other bands were dead here.
Dave W6AQ arrives next week with some extra power, so
will give it a try on 160 again for the week he is
here. Listen for him during the contest, the only ZK1
on the bands I think, Jim ZK1JD is going to the outer
Islands Aitu I think during the contest and will take
a rig and antenna with him to operate., Will have
ZK1TW Tom Wichman helping with Dave's efforts during
the CQWWSSB contest. Tom has not been on for years and
never in a contest so this will be a first for him.
Toms House burnt down and with it all of his radio
gear.

Not sure which call Dave will use ZK1SSB might be the
one we use for the contest.

Guess the TX9 (How did they get this nice call??) is
going QRT today, will see if they are on 160 tonight
for the last time.

73's and Regards
