[KCDXC] KCDXC Carp Touney

The highlight of the year is coming soon: The KCDXC Annual Carp Tournament will be held on July 31, under the bridge on K-7 highway in Bonner Springs on the famous Yasme Sand Bar. All members are invited, as well as your families, for our gala event. Fishing starts at 10 AM with the fish fry following at 6 PM. Remember to bring your Deet as the Kaw River mosquitoes have had a banner year with all the rain.

Cheap beer and tube steaks will be provided incase we don't catch any fish.

For the children, K0VBU plans to take all interested children on  a short hike in the woods up the hill to  Boy Scout Camp Naish, which is very near the Yasme Sand Bar. He will tell scary stories about ham radio and cook Smoores made from chocolate,  marshmallows and carp. 

Come out and see if AA0MZ can defend his title and honor, and repeat as club champion.  Roland Martin's second cousin, Billy Bob Martin,  will be there to kick off the action. N0XA, Head Judge, reminds us that there  is only one rule in the tournament: "There ain't no rules!"

So, bring your dynamite, stink bait, worms, frig leftovers, or any other stink  bait you can find.  

The beer can throwing contest will be held after the fish fry, so get out there and practice your tosses.(The Olympic Committee has been petitioned to make this event part of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. )

Jim and Kirsti Smith plan on attending along with Tom Christian and his beautiful daughter. Many other DX celebratory will be there. Make plans to attend!! Lance Johnson is planning on attending this year as well. Lance Armstrong may even show up if he isn't too tired.
