[KCDXC] KANSANS ACTIVATING NA-137 for IOTA CONTEST WEEK

KANSANS ACTIVATING NA-137 MAINE WEST FOR IOTA CONTEST



Alan W0NO and Bruce K0BJ of Beloit and Colby KS are traveling to Bailey
Island, a drive-on island in the Maine West IOTA group NA-137. They'll be
there 19-25 July, including the RSGB IOTA contest 1200Z July 24 to 1200Z
July 25.



They are defending their NA Multiop win in last year's contest from Block
Island RI, NA-31. This year Alan has designed vertical dipoles and a
4-sqaure at water's edge, making for easier setup than last year's tower,
yagi, 4 square and Delta loop.



Site logistics and help is provided by Jack N1DX of Nobleboro ME, just 15
miles from Bailey Island. Jack lent the operation his callsign last year,
and will do so again this time. He's also one of the contest ops. And once
again Mike K1TWF of Chelmsford MA will join the contesters.

Bruce and Alan will also be on during the week leading up to the contest.
Look for Alan primarily on SSB on the traditional bands. Bruce will
primarily be on WARC cw.  QSL both direct or via bureau.



K0BJ will try to be on 18.095 or 10.117 1200-1400Z some mornings 20-23 July.
He'll also try 14.280 at 0000Z some evenings.
