DAYTON DX DINNER ---> The Southwest Ohio DX
Association is
pleased to
announce the 18th Annual DX Dinner to be held on 16
May at the Crowne
Plaza
Hotel, Dayton. Tickets must be purchased in
advance and seats
will be
assigned on 16 March in the order that requests are
received. For
further
information please visit http://my.erinet.com/~n8bjq/
or contact Steve
Bolia,
N8BJQ at [email protected] [TNX N8BJQ]
OLD WOMAN ISLAND ---> The VK4FW/P cards for Bill's
operation from Old
Woman
Island have a wrong IOTA reference number on them
(OC-142). The
island is
just a few minutes outside the OC-142 grid, and
the IOTA
Committee has
confirmed that they will accept these cards for
OC-137. Bill
apologizes for
the unintentional mistake.
QSL 3B9FR ---> Robert, 3B9FR says that F6FNU has not
been his QSL
manager for
more than four years now. QSL cards should be sent
direct only to
Robert
Felicite, P.O. Box 31, Rodriguez Island, via Mauritius
Island, Indian
Ocean.
[TNX IK2IQD]
QSL CO6XN ---> Due to the current unstable mail
situation and
increase in
cost of the bureau service in Colombia, Oscar/HK6DOS
will cease to
handle
CO6XN's bureau cards effective 1 June 2003. The last
date to accept
via the
bureau will be 31 January 2003. Frank, N3ZOM will
continue to handle
all of
Abel's direct cards. [TNX OPDX Bulletin]
QSL EP6KI ---> Following the tragic death of Victor
Rusinov, UT8LL, in
an air
crash just before Christmas the Ukrainian Amateur
Radio League (UARL)
and the
IOTA Committee have been working together to see
that the QSLing of
EP6KI
contacts is carried through in accordance with his
wishes. UARL has
taken on
the design of a special memorial card and this
should be printed
over the
next few weeks. Phil Marsh, G4WFZ has received a large
number of direct
cards
and will reply to all of these when the EP6KI
cards are
available. The
decision has been taken to QSL all contacts in the
log and, to help
Phil in
this, Igor Zeldin, UR5LCV has agreed to act as QSL
manager for
the CIS
countries. There is no need to send further bureau
cards or duplicate
direct
cards either to the Ukraine or to the UK. [TNX G3KMA]
QSL HK6DOS ---> "Due to the cost of the mail in
Colombia", all QSL
cards
(direct and bureau) for Oscar, HK6DOS should be
sent to his QSL
manager,
EA5KB. [TNX HK6DOS]
QSL XE2AC ---> Luis, XE2AC (6J2AC) reports that his
new QSL manager is
Paco,
EA5OL.
QSL YB0GJS ---> Effective 1 February 2003, the new
QSL manager for
Lani,
YB0GJS will be N9NU (Tim S. Dickerson, 900 Vincent
Dr, Sandwich, IL
60548,
USA). [TNX YB0ECT]
QSL MANAGER OFFERED ---> Veteran QSL Manager Bob
Nadolny, WB2YQH
(5X1GS,
5Z4GS, K2L, VP9MN etc) is looking to take on another
station for QSL
chores.
A semi-rare and active station or small DXpedition
is welcome.
Computer
logging is a must and e-mail of logs monthly to
keep the Deserving
happy
would be helpful. Please contact Bob at
[email protected] to
discuss the
details. [TNX WB2YQH]
QSL VIA HB9BGN ---> Albert, HB9BGN acts as a
maildrop for the ZA
stations
(mainly ZA1Z) whose QSL route is "via HB9BGN". He says
that "mail
forwarding
to Tirana is done 2-3 times per year by trustworthy
persons
travelling to
Tirana". One USD is sufficient, please do not send
SASEs with Swiss
stamps as
QSLs are mailed from Albania. Further
information can be
found at
http://mypage.bluewin.ch/HB9BGN [TNX The Golist,
http://golist.net/]
V31KQ ---> Roger, WA0ETE, QSL manager for V31KQ,
informs me that the
recent
operations on 15m CW are the work of a pirate. The
only valid
dates for
operation from V31KQ in 2002 were from 24 April to 2
May. At present,
there
are no firm plans to return to Belize in 2003. [TNX
