Very interesting contest form this side of the stateline.  I had put up a
80M horizontal Delta Loop a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of this &
sprint contests (I don't do well on 80).  So I was really looking forward to
it.  Mr. Murphy who was not invited, but took the "party" part of NAQP
literally and made a couple of appearances.  Anyway, (and I would really be
interested in other folks strategy in these short domestic contests) I
decided since I am so strong on ten meters I would wait to start until 1:30
CST.  Sounded good on paper.  After the first 10 Q's I had 8 "your breaking
up," "you have really bad audio," "there is something wrong with your
radio," "there is something wrong with your microphone" well, you get the
picture.  Seems that my Heil headset (or the connecting cable) had a
problem. So I did the next 700+ Q's with the little hand mike that comes
with the radio.  I consoled myself with the thought that the contest was
only 10 hours.  Any way I learned a HELL OF A LOT in this contest.  Wanted
to be competitive during this one...since I compete against myself primarily
I'm still trying to figure out whether I was.

Comments:  Con's 10 & 40 were disappointments.
                      (40 was brutal for me I have got to get
                        better, both antwise & operating-
wise)  Had lots of equip problems.

                        Pro's: 80M ant worked great!
                        Literally saved me on 20 when TH7
                        developed trap problems.  Learned
                        a tremendous amount during this
                        contest.  Anyway that's my soapbox.
