[KCDXC] Fw: W0 DXCC Convention - Refund?

Hi Gang,

First a brief history:
I sent a check(dated 7-17-02) to Nick almost as soon as I found out
about the W0 DXCC Convention.

On the weekend of the event, I ended up in Virginia helping my son move
back to Kansas City.

On  Sept 18th I send Nick an e-mail and ask for a refund.  After I
returned from Virginia I received a letter from Nick which said he had
only lost $6.00 per person attending.  It looked like a form letter and
at the time (and still today) I didn't feel it addressed my request for
a refund as it didn't include any verbiage to indicate a refund was or
wasn't coming.

I've sent two subsequent e-mails, January 07 and March 14(attached) and
have not received a response to either.

>From people that I've talked to that know Nick, he seems to be a nice
guy and frankly I'm puzzled as to why he doesn't respond.

I can understand not refunding the admission price, although I never
received tickets for the event like the web site said I would:
Mail your callsign, address and check for $30 or $50 payable to W�DXCC,

before September 12th and we will send you your tickets:

I did receive a letter dated 9 Sept telling me to pick up my tickets on
Saturday morning of the event.
I also hate to pay for meals that I don't eat when I give ten days
notice that I can't attend.

I'm tempted to let the ARRL and the event sponsors know what's going on
but that may be over kill.
Please reply with any ideas for resolving this matter directly to me.
I'll consolidate and publish results to the reflector
