Alan,
Call the building codes department of the city and ask them a hypothetical
question. In Overland Park and Olathe for example, you do not need a permit
if it is under 65' and a certain distance from the property line. Bet that
there are no zoning regs to cover it...if not, put it up. If anyone asks if
you had a permit say that you did not need one. Now if you have a homes
association with cc&r's you may have a bigger problem.
