I'll start doing some research on it.  Fortunately, I'm in a pretty
low-noise area, partially due to the buried power lines.

I'm sure if you check the ON4UN books on Topband, you will find a
close (1/8th wave) spacing that might work. I think 1 would be
adequate with the balance of your efforts on receiving
(loops,pennants, etc).
