I got my General ticket on the Saturday of CQWW Phone "way back" in 1997.
Ran home and started working the contest, though I had no idea what I was
doing. Fourth QSO in my log is FO8DX. I worked 15 countries that first day.
Needless to say, I was hooked on DX.

I worked about 90 countries in that first few months, before "they" told me
that the 1/2 size homebrew G5RV laying on the roof of my house wouldn't
possibly work any DX... I'm not sure I worked any farther than Tonganoxie
on it after that. Finally moved to another house about a year later and put
up a "killer" antenna farm consisting of wires in the back yard and a
tribander on the roof. I'm a force to be reckoned with now...

Here's my brag sheet, should be fairly accurate, though I've got a 6 inch
high stack of buro cards to go through one of these days - doubt there are
any significant new ones in there however...

	WRK CFM
Mixed 222 190
Phone 212 175
CW 31 2 Ha! It'd be even less without my CW decoder...
RTTY 123 95

BAND TOTALS (Mixed mode)
160m 2 2 Double Ha! I'm not sure what else besides USA that I've
worked on 160.
  80m 14 14
  40m 40 25
  20m 158 127
  17m 19 13
  15m 134 93
  12m 10 5
  10m 153 93

I also show 78 6m Grid squares worked and 66 confirmed. Haven't been on 6m
in probably 3 years and was only on for about 6 months before the neighbors
became too irate to deal with any longer.

39 of 40 CQ Zones confirmed (missing zone 34 of all things). All 6
continents confirmed.

Worked all states on 80m and 40m phone within the first 6 months of getting
my ticket. Also show WAS on 40m and 20m RTTY.
