Tom,=20
I read your summary with interest, but I disagree on this:

"Additional Discussion included having a list of members and the number =
of DX
entities they have worked and confirmed.
Addition of this info on the web page will be by Bill (K0VBU)
Although this can be positive, I hope new members and young members will
remember many of these fellows have been DXing before some of us were =
born.
It takes years to accumulate the totals some have. They are a source of =
vast
knowledge and the best way to get them to share it is to ask questions."

Reporting DXCC totals was a regular feature of our club in the past. =
DX is competitive in its very nature AND we are a DX Club.=20
 History:
The KCDXC used to also sponsor an award every year for the most =
countries worked in a calendar year. It was named after Harold Suman, a =
former member, W0AAA.
Many of us worked as many as 260 + countries every year! N0XA and W0AR =
usually won with totals as high as 270 some years, but many of us: =
AK0A, AB0X, W0GNX, K0CS, W0NS, K0RWL, KB0X, AB0W, AE0K and many more I =
have probably forgotten all worked at least 250 every year, so I don't =
think anyone would be embarrassed by their totals if printed in the =
newsletter. =20

Anyone can work those same kind of totals right now if they want to put =
in the effort. It is even easier now with dx spotting on the net ! I =
counted up last year myself and my log showed 200+ in 2001 in a purely =
half assed effort. Some of the retired guys probably did much better!

It was great fun for the club and it was also a way that some members =
could gain more respect for true DXers within the group. That kind of =
effort deserves respect! It shows great understanding of propagation, =
special knowledge of rare DX activity, long hours of work and =
dedication. It is year long, sustained effort! =20

I would encourage the KCDXC to consider resuming this yearly competition =
as well.=20

Any seconds on this!
