[KCDXC] Wondering something

Chuck,

I am certainly open to suggestions, but I want to have volunteers step
forward to take projects and run with them. I will agree that Tom
(AE9B) can be a real pain in the butt, but he has gotten the club
realigned towards some contesting. I am not eager to take on any
further responsibilities because of the daily job I have of running a
"Daycare Center". I hear all the whining one person can handle in a
day, so I would like to see this club survive in a calm and positive
direction.

I originally became a part of this club because there were no fights,
just friendly get togethers to talk about DXing and contesting. I
don't do a lot of either, but it was fun and I like the group. Well
time do change and we might find ourselves with a shrinking membership
if we don't do a little more.

As far as bringing new members in to the club, we have to remember
that they have to have a particular interest in DXing and/or
contesting to see benefit in belonging to our club. Let's keep an eye
and ear open for them. When we get a new guy interested in contesting
or DXing, lets not insult him on the reflector by taking his comments
out of context twist it into something dirty. Lets try to keep folks
interested in our club. Some people are more thin skinned than I am.

Tom, AE9B, will have some responsibilities added to what he submits now. I am
in the process of letting him put his energies where his mouth is, and
appoint him as the new membership chairman. In that position he can
really be a pain by pushing all of us to help find new members. It
will come back to him for the final recruitment, but we all can submit
names and calls for him to contact.
