I've been in contact with Larry in the last couple days.
I've been trying to work out a sked on 160M but he has a problem there.
Here are his comments
>> I had to go home this morning just replyed real fast before I got off
my 12 hr watch. Your times are pretty close with the sunset and sunrise. I
think you might be off by 15 or 20 mins the Greyline programs are not alway
correct. Are big prob on 160M is that we have a AM MW 300 foot Ant bcsting
around 1400khz less than 250 feet from the shack and thier filter is bad it
really tears are 160 meter receive up. They never secure the xmitter playing
music and news for the Island. Maybe I could do some portable ops from a
diffrent location on the Island the problem with that is Pwr we dont have
any Generators and I would have to use a 706 with a battery and the pwr
would be down to less than 100 watts. The hams here built a Band Pass
Filter for the AM BCST station but it was on the air 24 hours a Day 7 Days a
week and could not handle the constant load of the xmitter. It burnt up
after a couple of months on the air and was never replaced by the Navy being
a Homebrew it was not up to Specs of the Navy. 80 and 40 meter CW is
possible as well as LSB we can do that no problem and we work the states
quite offten on 80 and 40 from here. Can also put 30 meters on the air....
Are High pwr is only 400 watts due to British Law. You now have a Ideal of
the 160 meter problems we face out here. I will be on the air the night of
24th and 25th around 10 in the morning your time on 17 meters working
stateside 18.125-18.130 so if you have time jump on 17 and say hi....We are
+12 hours your time.
