I'll get my log sent to you tomorrow, but here are my preliminary results:
N8AU - QRP class
200 QSO points X 36 Multipliers for 7200 points
Used a loaded 100' inverted vee that I finished installing 4:45PM Friday
afternoon.
It seemed to perform well. The apex was at about 30 feet, ran one leg out
to the street light and the other out to the kids' swing set. Never got any
kind of rate (didn't expect to, on QRP) and I was on the air only 10 hours
total. Next year, I'm sending the XYL and the kids to her parents' house!
First contact was AE9B, and I also worked N0TT, KU1CW, KG0US, AA0MZ, and
W0JLC (is he still a member?)
Notes for next year:
1. If using an old DOS machine, make sure to check the date and time on the
computer(forgot to and finally realized at 0530Z Saturday that I was logging
a contact for 0258Z on March 27, 1981!)
2. XYLs seem to want OMs to be awake during the day and asleep in bed at
night (See above comment about XYL and kids).
3. Test antenna BEFORE the contest starts.

When you're completed with the contest, send the results to me and I'll
process them. A cabrillo, or the log, either way will be fine.
I cut it a little short with 24 hours operating and wish I would have:
1- Read the starting time... (got started late)
2- stayed up later the first night.. (the 4:30 AM wake up routine has me
gong to bed early)
3- rigged the rest of beverages.. (only have the one and didn't use it at
all used the K9AY loop)
4- set a higher goal.. never really got into it until I started feeling like
I could get a top 25 score (based on last years points)
5- didn't work PR, NL or YT
A was very pleased:
1- That we had such great club participation
2- That no equipment broke
3- That KG0US's receiver was wrong (he had me transmitting on his freq... I
didn't think I was, I could hear him!)
4- That a few extra guys got on NW0L, K0VBU, W0WG and maybe others.
5- I got a little DX on the 2nd day EA6, VK6HD, NL7Z, HP, KH7, XE all called
Me, Heard but unsure about V73, LX0. We'll see... ; )
I'll give a run down later.. Post your results when you find time. Thanks
for the great teamwork, We probably won't win anything in the medium club
class, but we should be proud of the showing. Next week 10M contest.. Rest
UP!
Tom AE9B
